Residents of St. John’s may receive financial assistance to neuter their male cat

Residents of St. John’s seeking financial assistance to neuter their male cat can apply to the City’s cat neuter assistance program.

Male cats need to be at least six months to qualify.

Bring along your:

  • 2017 or 2018 income tax assessment for all family members living in the household
  • GIS letter (if you are a senior)
  • Proof of St. John’s residency
  • Payment

Bring the completed application and other items listed above to the Animal Care & Adoption Centre

at 81 Higgins Line on Wednesday’s between and noon and 2 p.m.


The City’s goal is to double the number of male cats neutered annually with no limit per household.


Successful applicants will be contacted with the surgical appointment date, time and instructions
